According to Allegheny County Police, officers responded to a residence on Franklin Avenue on Monday afternoon after receiving a call that prompted a welfare check. Upon entering the home, authorities found an adult man and an adult woman deceased inside the residence. Also inside the home were two young children, ages 1 and 3, who were found alive and immediately removed from the scene by first responders.
Police said the children were transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation as a precaution. After being examined, they were released into the care of Allegheny County Children, Youth and Families, where they will continue to receive the support and care they need.
